Going Digital Photography Workshop at Colchester Castle Park, Colchester Essex.

I had a lovely day today teaching 10 new photographers how to get the most from their digital cameras. The workshop at Colchester Castle Park was packed full of interesting subjects and a spot of sunshine. Well done to all the students, who tamed squirrels,  gained lots more control over their cameras and graduated from auto mode with distinctions!

A gorgeous set of images, thank you to everyone who attended and made it such a fab day. Big thanks to Richard Berry too, for being a superb assistant today and over the past few months, you will be sorely missed!

Going Digital Photography workshop at Bletchley Park

I had the pleasure of teaching a Going Digital photography workshop at Bletchley Park on Easter Saturday. The sun was shining, the plants and flowers in full bloom, and the students wasted no time in getting out and about with their cameras and their new found skills. A lovely day was had by all, with tons of new blossoms, fabulous blue skies, and the ever impressive Mansion house, Harrier GR3 Jet, Vintage Car collection and Lakeside walk providing the best possible subjects to practice new photography skills. Check out these gorgeous images!

Explore your Digital SLR Part 2 at Hitchin Priory

Another lovely day out at Hitchin Priory in Herts today, on the Going Digital Explore your SLR part 2 course. 10 super students came out to learn new techniques for better control over their exposures, and practise some new techniques for action, movement and sport photography. Quite a technical day, and everyone went home with heads full of new techniques to test out on the family at home. All the students came away with better action images with frozen movement, and more creative control over slow shutter speeds, and introducing blur to add movement! Lots of lovely new pictures, with a few tasters on here,  all taken by the students.

Thanks to all the students that came out to the workshop today, and thanks to Richard Berry for assisting on the course.

1:1 Photography training at Shuttleworth Swiss Gardens, Bedford.

Yesterday I had a fabulous day teaching Mark how to use his Panasonic Lumix. Mark is particularly fond of Landscape and Portrait photography, but had always been a bit stuck on the auto settings in his digital camera. He was super brave yesterday and with a few pointers from me he went all the way up to shooting in Manual mode, controlling exposure, using filters, and composing fantastic shots. More 1:1 sessions and Going Digital photography workshops coming soon to Shuttleworth. Look at these fabulous results, all done 'in camera' with no editing or fiddling!
