Part 2 Photography Workshop at Colchester Castle

Today I met up with some lovely photographers from a previous Part 1 at Colchester Castle, to continue learning new photography techniques on the Part 2 course. We learnt how to use the cameras in fully manual mode, how to use filters, control exposure and freeze and blur motion in photographs for different results.

Hope you enjoyed these as much as we enjoyed making them. Many thanks to Richard Berry for assisting today and providing the fast action to capture!

Beginners Photography Workshop in Norwich Cathedral

This weekend I had the pleasure of meeting a whole bunch of new photographers at Norwich Cathedral. The Going Digital Part 1 course is a fabulous way to get to grips with your digital camera, and get off auto mode for better Landscape, Portrait, Close up and Low Light photography. The weather let us down with very dull grey skies, but that didn't stop this lot from getting cracking images, check them out below!

Many Thanks to Richard Berry for assisting on the workshop, check out his photography blog here!

Photography workshop for beginners at Hitchin Priory.

The second part of my mega photography weekend took place on another Explore part 1 at Hitchin Priory. Another great troop of new photographers learning all about landscape, portrait and close up photography, and some great camera techniques. We played dodge the rain a little (again!) but really got to grips with the cameras and some lovely images!

Big thanks and a huge welcome back for my lovely assistant and talented photographer friend Richard, who helped out on the day.

Explore your Digital Camera Part 1 at Bletchley Park.

I've had a very busy few weeks, with lots of workshops and not enough blogging! The weekend was lovely, 2 brilliant Part 1 photography workshops with lots of new photographers and cameras to explore. The first was at the lovely Bletchley Park, and while the weather didnt quite behave itself, the students got some cracking shots and went wandering all over the grounds. A brilliant day with brilliant people, check out the results below!

Beginners Photography Workshop at Hylands House, Chelmsford.

The second day of the super busy weekend was on Sunday, at the ever beautiful Hylands House, in Chelmsford, Essex. A whole bunch of photographers braved the slightly soggy weather and got to grips with their cameras on the Explore you Camera Part 1 course. We soon discovered that the rain, whilst not great for the photographers, was perfect for adding water droplets to plants and flowers for that extra finishing touch. Congratulations to all who attended the day, check out these gorgeous images.

Explore your Digital Camera at Colchester Castle Park.

Going Digital East Anglia had a super busy weekend with 2 beginners photography courses in Essex. Saturday was the first, held at Colchester Castle park, with a great bunch of new photographers. We managed to avoid a few showers and got out and about exploring all the functions in the cameras, practising great new Portrait, Landscape and Close Up photography skills. I even did a spot of modeling! Well done to all the new photographers who attended, some gorgeous images despite the weather!

New Workshop Date - Introduction to Wedding Photography at Norwich Cathedral.

I am absolutely thrilled to be offering the Introduction to Wedding Photography at Norwich Cathedral this October. Im even more thrilled to tell you that The Dress (and of course, the gents suit) are all here and ready for their models! (I will let you guys see the models later on!)
The gorgeous Dress and very dashing suit all ready for the models!

This workshop is designed for anyone considering photographing a wedding. You will learn all the essential camera skills required over the 2 days of the course, and if you are contemplating professional wedding photography you will learn all the practical event skills you'll need before you progress shooting your first wedding!

I am a people photographer at heart, and weddings are my absolute favourite thing to shoot. I can't wait to tell you all the things I've learned as a wedding photographer, and help you get gorgeous wedding images, either as a guest at a family wedding, or help you take your first steps to a wedding photography career.
Using Flash in Bright sunlight to remove hard shadows

If you would like to take professional-looking wedding shots of your friends or family, this two-day workshop will give you all the skills you need. You will learn how to:

Plan and prepare for the event
Take correctly exposed shots
Photograph without flash in low lighting conditions, e.g. inside a church or registry office
Use fill-in flash indoors and outdoors
Take portrait shots of the bride and groom
Take group portraits
Make adjustments to your images on computer
Put together a portfolio of 'essential shots'

Throughout both days you will have the opportunity to put theory into practice with practical exercises, and several opportunities to review your images as a group. The group is small, and limited to 8 students, to guarantee you all lots of hands on time with the models in different locations. Myself and my lovely assistants also dress as wedding guests, to help you guys get used to posing groups of people with the lovely couple, and get great group photographs.

Photoshop editing skills - for photos with wow factor!

I will also be teaching editing skills that I have perfected through many years photography and study. No more sitting infront of the computer for days at a time! I will teach you how to edit a wedding quickly and easily, and still have a life!

What are you waiting for? Get in and book your place for 2 days of Wedding Photography in Norfolk!
